Palm Beach County Golf Association Gears up for Amateur

The 38th running of the Palm Beach Kennel Club County Amateur is slated for July 12 through 14 at dual courses in Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach.

Sponsored by the Palm Beach County Golf Association, the tournament will get underway at 8 a.m. each day at what arguably is one of South Florida’s premiere golf locales. Quail Ridge Country Club features a pair of Joe Lee-inspired courses – the North Course and the South Course – and boasts a membership of 100-plus low-handicap (single digits) golfers.

Jupiter resident and defending champion Austin Powell will try to recapture the title. Other previous winners in the field include Anders Johncke, a PGA National resident.

The Pairings Party took place July 5 at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach. The tournament will feature three days of play, followed by an awards ceremony. The winner will take home the County Amateur Champion title.
