Funds Raised for Delray Beach Public Library

Downtown Delray Beach
An approximate $3,500 was raised at the annual “Dine out for a Cause event benefiting the Delray Beach Public Library.
The event featured “celebrity” Chef Linda Gunn Paton and professional Chef Lindsay Autry, who created delicious dishes for the food-themed fundraiser.
“There was great food, great drinks and great company, and it was an easy way to support the Delray Beach Public Library and all of the vital programs they offer our community – from programs for children and teens, to the Lifelong Learning Community Institute,” library spokeswoman Bonnie Stelzer said.
The library is in the heart of downtown Delray Beach and is one of the many assets offered within the city of oceanfront condos and Intracoastal Waterway property, another being the celebrated Sundy House, where the event took place. The library and the Sundy House have an historical tie: Delray Beach’s first mayor was John Sundy, after which the establishment is named, and Sundy’s wife, Elizabeth, helped found the Ladies Improvement Society, which went on to establish the Delray Beach Public Library in 1913.
